Giving Your Business a Boost with Pinterest

Pinterest is a newer social network that I’m not super-familiar with (I’m more of a Twitter fan myself), but it looks like the days of it being a formidable marketing tool are more or less here. While looking into the website a bit for PM’s purposes, I found a bunch of cool links that I thought would be helpful to anyone else considering the website for marketing their business.

1. This Is Everything You Need To Know About Pinterest (Infographic)
Skip the text intro and go right to the infographic. It’s a little dated (about a year old), but the infographic still has a lot of great, date-independent info, like key terms and brands that are using the site well.

2. How My Site Gets Tons of Traffic From Pinterest
An in-depth guide on using Pinterest to drive traffic to your website. Written by the founder of a small business that used the site to grow its web traffic a great deal, the how-to is broken up into 10 short, easy-to-read blocks that still manage to be thoughtful and helpful. Definitely worth reading if you’re wondering where to start.

3. How to Use Pinterest to Recruit
An explanation of the value of visuals in the recruiting process and how Pinterest can help. Includes a gallery of examples, so you can see what the article is talking about in practice.

That’s it for this week guys. Thanks for reading and see you all next week!

Like my blog? Why not follow PM on Twitter or Facebook (or just me on RSS or LinkedIn) so you never miss a post? Thanks!

MONDAY MIKE FACT: I watched the Oscars for the first time in forever last night. It was … okay? I guess? I’m not sure I get the appeal. I mean I enjoy watching famous people have fun as much as the next guy, but my thing is that no one at the Oscars seems to really want to be there? I don’t know, most of the actors seemed to either be transparently feigning joy or outright rolling their eyes in boredom. Maybe I’m reading into it too much, but watching people not have fun is … not fun? Can anyone explain to me what I’m missing here?
